Alpine's R-Series of subwoofer enclosures deliver sound and style in preloaded sub boxes. Now the RS-SB12 12” subwoofer joins their lineup of space-saving shallow-mount solutions.

The little sub that could

The enclosure contains an RS-W12D2 subwoofer dual-voice coil subwoofer wired to provide a 2-ohm load. This shallow sub features a cast aluminum frame, polypropylene cone, and butyl rubber surround, and handles up to 600 watts RMS (1800 watts peak) so you'll get the big bass you're looking for.

Built road tough

The rugged medium-density fiberboard enclosure is only 5.38” tall, and is covered in tough and attractive black carpet. The included rubber feet can be installed on the top or bottom, so the enclosure can be installed as a downward- or upward-firing enclosure for maximum flexibility. A steel mesh grille protects your speaker from accidental damage.

Overview: The Alpine RS-SB12 subwoofer enclosure features a single Alpine R-Series Shallow-Mount subwoofer mounted in an ultra-compact enclosure. This combination provides deep, clear bass while taking up minimal space in your vehicle.

Enclosure: The sealed enclosure is made of heavy-duty MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), providing exceptional acoustic efficiency and deep powerful bass. The enclosure is covered in sleek black carpeting with the Alpine logo embroidered in white on one side for a refined look and added protection.

Mounting: The RS-SB12 subwoofer enclosure includes rubber feet for installation in each corner of the enclosure. Eight rubber feet and four spacers let you vary the mounting height and allow for placing the enclosure on uneven surfaces. A single rubber foot can be installed, providing 1/2" of mounting height. If two feet and a spacer are used, the enclosure will sit 1-1/4" above the mounting surface. The RS-SB12 is optimized for mounting in a down-firing orientation, but includes mounting holes on both sides of the enclosure, allowing for up-firing foot placement as well.

Note: The embroidered Alpine logo will be upside-down if the enclosure is mounted in the up-firing position.

Speaker Terminals: A single pair of spring-posts are mounted on one side of the enclosure in a recessed terminal cup, accepting pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10-gauge. The subwoofer's dual 4Ω voice coils are internally wired to present a 2Ω load at the spring posts.

Power: The Alpine RS-SB12 enclosed subwoofer can handle 600W RMS (1800W peak).

Dual Voice-Coil Driver: The pre-installed Alpine RS-W12D4 features the same motor movement (20mm of 1-way excursion) as the full-size R2-Series subwoofers, providing extreme output in a shallow woofer design. A powerful neodymium magnet and 4" voice coil allow for up to 600W RMS of output, while Alpine's Gen2 DD-Linear Magnetic Circuit technology provides exceptional control over the motor, resulting in precise bass control and lower distortion. Integrated cooling fins located in the core of the driver along with Alpine's Unique CoolMountT Dual-Panel motor-mount help dissipate heat and enhance cooling.
