WDU is a web server unit that distributes rich, customized graphics to any HTML5-supporting device. The WDU device allows any EmpirBus system to be controlled and monitored by a user interface that’s fully optimized for its purpose and supported by our GPSMAP® touchscreen MFD helm displays. HTML5 pages and apps can be graphically configured without limitations and can work seamlessly with the EmpirBus software.
The WDU device, operating via an NMEA 2000® network, works at Ethernet speeds (GMN circular connector) for HTML5 distribution. It also offers optional connectivity for wireless links via Wi-Fi® technology. This adds the possibility of using compatible smartphones and tablets as control devices for the EmpirBus switching system.
